Weddings by Cat Norman Photography
As I’ve been working on revamping my website, I’ve also taken to polishing up some of the less accessible links. You won’t be able to get to my wedding portfolio from my main site, as I very rarely advertise that I take them… but I do occasionally shoot a wedding here and there. If you want to check out my wedding portfolio, visit www.catnorman.com/wedding. New design!
Sarah + Jason

One of my good friends from college, Sarah, got married this weekend to a wonderful guy named Jason. They invited us all down to Jekyll Island to celebrate their wedding on the beach in gorgeous, warm weather. It was nice for me to be able to get a different perspective with some of the photos, as I wasn’t their photographer, but instead just a guest. I loved how the image above came out as I shot through the guests in front of me.
The reception that followed was so much fun, that I put down the camera and spent the following hours just trying to keep up with the dance floor full of premium salsa dancing. Jason’s family’s Cuban heritage definitely brought in some impressive hip moving action…

Congrats again, Sarah and Jason!
Christen + Parke

As I mentioned a few posts back, I’ve gotten to shoot and assist on a lot of weddings lately. On August 15th, I got to be a part of Christen and Parke’s wedding as I assisted Andrew Lee. These shots shown are just some of my favorites from the day… to see Andy’s work on this wedding and other shoots, head over to his site: andrewthomaslee.com.
The day went great, except that one of the bridesmaids had a very severe allergic reaction to the beautiful bouquets, as you’ll see below…

Ben and Tiffany

While I don’t normally shoot a lot of weddings, lately I’ve been privileged to be a part of a few. On August 8th, 2008, I got to shoot my cousin Ben’s wedding in Banner Elk, North Carolina. It was interesting to be working and attending a wedding as a family member – but since everyone in the family had been warned ahead of time not to distract me, it actually came off quite seamlessly.

I actually had a hard time narrowing down which images I wanted to show on my blog. I suppose it hasn’t helped that I’m sentimentally attached to a lot of the photos because I know the people in them as well… So I’ve got my favorites above and am ending with a slideshow showing the top images from the whole day if you care to see more. Enjoy!
I was assisted on this wedding by Tes Davison – check out her work at thedavison.com.
